Cosmetic Science Major

Cosmetics have the potential to fully embrace the power of life, and the potential of cosmetics goes beyond what is seen on just the surface of the skin. In this course you will learn the fundamentals of life science and will study how cosmetics affect life from various viewpoints.

Cosmetics are widely used for various applications such as whitening, moisturizing, and anti-aging, which are essential to improving the quality of life and heath. Like pharmaceuticals, cosmetics are also made of chemical substances, and by studying cosmetics in a pharmacy school you can learn crucial skills such as pharmaceutical formulation and understand the stability and safety of such materials. In this course you will be trained to become a highly skilled cosmetics researcher and developer through the skills you learn as a pharmaceutical student.

Cosmetics & Pharmaceutical Formulation Lab

Cosmetics & Pharmaceutical Formulation Lab

The Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical Formulation Lab was founded in 2010, and is a new addition to the CIS School of Pharmacy.

To share our researches and upcoming plans we regularly hold symposiums in cooperation with both current students and other organizations such as large pharmaceutical companies and share the latest news in cosmetics. Through such activities we will send out our education and research results and commit to the progress of cosmetics. Our research focuses on surface control and dermatologic physiology. We also focus on basic emulsion research and functional evaluation of various surfactants(emulsifiers), and also research and evaluate trace elements in the stratum corneum and research the effect of cosmetics on the human skin and how it can maintain and improve its healthy condition.
