Through the advancement of medicine, pharmacology has reached new heights of sophistication and new drug development has created specialized research, while at the same time gerontology, public health and welfare have created diversification. The Chiba Institute of Science has established an educational program to meet these various needs of pharmacology. Our program not only educates individuals to be pharmacist in the medical setting but allows them to combine their talents and interests to pursue careers in other settings as well were a license may not be necessary but a profound understanding and ability such as in the development and production of new drugs, or a wide range of knowledge and ability to communicate such as in a Medical Representative or a Certified Research Administrator, or the defense of the environment and public health.
To meet the specific need of our students we have established the Department of Pharmacy, a six year course for those who wish to pursue a career as pharmacists, as well as four year courses the Department of Pharmaceutical Science which has the Animal Pharmaceutical Science Section for those who wish to conduct research aimed at animal medicines. The Department of Pharmacy concentrates on the medical field through lectures and practical training at well-equipped hospital and pharmacies to develop experienced pharmacists.
To cultivate researchers and technicians the Department of Pharmaceutical Science program concentrates on research and practical training to invigorate the imagination and enhance aptitude, the favorable student to instructor ratio allows students to deepen their academic perspective and consider graduate school.
