Qualification for Application

【Non-Japanese applicants must meet the following criteria】

Complete at least 12 years of education outside of Japan or its equivalent in a Japanese Education Ministry approved school by March 2007
Reach the age of 18 and have the educational standard of high school graduate or its equivalent by March 2007
Enter Japan under the “Foreign Student Status” as recognized by Japanese Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act by the date of Admission

-Note of Caution-

Classes are conducted in Japanese, therefore a level of Japanese language proficiency that allows you to comprehend the lectures is required. While it is not required, a level 2 on the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services' Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
Qualification for application will be determined after the screening of all submitted documents. If the University determines that the applicant is not qualified for application, all documents will be returned to the sender.

Documents to be submitted by Applicants

Application and all documentation must be received by the Chiba Institute of Science prior to the deadline of the examination you wish to take by mail.
（For applicants within China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand and Sri Lanka please contact our branch offices within your country.）
Applicants will not be eligible to take examination unless all required documents are received by deadline for the examination they wish to take.
Any false statements on application form or false forms submitted will result in the disqualification weather or not applicant enrolled.

1	Application Form　　【designated form provide my University】	From must be completed by applicant in Legible Japanese. Do not leave any blank spaces, Please write N/A if section is not applicable. ※If blanks are left on application form, application may not be accepted.
2	Diploma（original）	Diploma from 12 years of education or an official notarized letter indicating graduation date. Applicants holding higher degrees must submit a certified copy of diploma indicating highest degree earned. Non-Japanese language diplomas must be accompanied Japanese translation.
3	Transcripts（original）	Transcripts for primary education (12 years) or last school attended if applicant has pursued higher education（transcripts for the year prior to application must be submitted） Non-Japanese language transcripts must be accompanied Japanese translation.
4	Certificate of Enrollment（original） [only for applicants currently enrolled]	Issued by currently enrolled Japanese Language school or vocational school Non-Japanese language certificates must be accompanied Japanese translation. ※applicants not currently enrolled need not submit this document.
5	Certificate of Attendance（original） [only for applicants currently enrolled]	Issued by currently enrolled Japanese Language school or vocational school Non-Japanese language certificates must be accompanied Japanese translation. ※applicants not currently enrolled need not submit this document.
6	Statement of Financial Guarantor 【Form provided by University】	Statement that Guarantor will be responsible for Applicants tuition must be completed by Guarantor him/herself. Statement of Financial Guarantor without explanation will not be accepted. Non-Japanese language statements must be accompanied Japanese translation.
7	Documentation to certify financial ability of Guarantor （original）	The following documents must be submitted to prove financial ability of Guarantor. 1)Official Statement of Balance in the name of Guarantor (Issued by bank or financial institution)（original） 2)Certificate of Employment in name of Guarantor (original) 3)Certificate of Income in name of Guarantor (original) Non-Japanese language documents must be accompanied Japanese translation
8	Letter of Recommendation【Form provided by University】	Principle or faculty member most responsible for applicant from last school attended such as high school, university or Japanese language school should complete recommendation. Applicants unable to submit recommendation must submit a letter from last school attended stating why recommendation is unable to be submitted. Non-Japanese language documents must be accompanied Japanese translation ※Applicants who are unable to submitted either a recommendation or an explanation please call the university 0120-919-126.

The subjects listed above are for both Examination within Japan and examinations abroad.
The Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology questions are basic level problems.
The Japanese Essay is written by selecting one of the topics from the Examination.

Entrance Examination Fee

6,000yen
Pay the fee the day of the examination, please bring the exact amount as no change will be provided
Upon payment of Entrance Examination Fee applicants will receive a receipt and Examination Card
Unsuccessful candidates will not have Entrance Examination Fee returned

Enrollment Procedures

Enrollment and Registration forms will be sent to successful candidates
If forms are not submitted by date specified, an applicant’s acceptance may be revoked
Successful overseas candidates will be asked to deposit fees after a Foreign Students Certificate of Eligibility has been issued
Academic Fees to be submitted prior to enrollment

Procedures for transferring funds and account information will be sent to successful candidates along with enrolment instruction.
Transaction fees required for depositing academic fees are to be born by applicant
Candidates unable to obtain Foreign Student Status as recognized by Japanese Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act by the date of Commencement may have their acceptance status revoked.
Once entrance fee is deposited they will not be returned to candidates

Accommodation

Students from KAKE partner institutions are to spend their first year in university designated foreign student housing. From their second year students are expected to secure housing on their own.
Students not from KAKE partner institutions are expected as a condition of acceptance to stay in university
