The Japan Student Services Organization provides scholarships to privately supported foreign students、currently 8 students are receiving a 50,000 yen monthly scholarship.
Academic Support
- Outstanding Academic Foreign Student Award, Parent Invitation
Foreign Students with outstanding academic achievement may have their parents invited to Japan. Travel expenses, lodging and meals for two nights and three days will be provided by the International Affairs Office.
- Overseas Branches
Five Overseas Branches (China, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand and Sri Lanka) have been established to assist students with wishing to enroll form each country with the application and enrollment process. This support continues after enrollment will various assistance an as a conduit for communication with the university.

Acclimating to living In Japan
- Articles donated by Choshi Citizens
Many items needed in daily life in Japan (such as cooking utensils, pans or rice cookers) are often donated to assist new foreign students upon arriving in Japan.
- Counseling
Foreign students are free to contact the International Affairs Office regarding concerns, questions or difficulties they may experience as they acclimate to living in Japan. The staff which includes native Chinese and English speakers is there to offer advice and make the students feel at ease.
- Part-Time Employment
In principal students are responsible for securing part-time employment themselves, however may companies contact the International Affairs Office for positions that may be filled foreign students, and to Office will introduce students to the companies.
- Foreign Student Designated Housing
Foreign students are eligible to spend their freshman year in Designated Foreign Student Housing.
- One Day Study Tour
One day study tours are planned for foreign students within Chiba and Ibaragi Prefectures to cultural and research facilities where the are able to gain experience and interact with other students.
Visa and Immigration Support
The immigration application required for foreign students prior to enroll is done by the International Affairs Office. As many students are busy with both academic and part-time employment endeavors, the International Affairs Office assist with the application to “Engage in Other Activities Forms” as well as re-entry visas and visa extensions. The Office will also send a representative to the Immigration office on behalf of the student to actually apply. However the application process performed by the Office is posted one the bulletin board and the staff will only make applications for students who submit their paperwork prior to the deadline.
